1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using FamilyPlate, you confirm that:

• You are at least 18 years old.
• You have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.
• You will comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
• All information you provide is accurate and up-to-date.

2. Description of Service

FamilyPlate is an AI-powered meal planning platform that:

• Generates personalized weekly meal plans based on your family's preferences.
• Allows family members to vote on meals.
• Provides shopping lists and recipes.
• Supports dietary restrictions and allergies.
• Offers meal regeneration and substitution features.

BETA Status: FamilyPlate is currently in BETA testing. Features may change, and the Service may experience interruptions or errors.

3. User Accounts

3.1 Account Creation

To use FamilyPlate, you must create an account using a valid email address. We use magic link authentication—no password is required.

3.2 Account Security

You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your email account.
• All activities that occur under your account.
• Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized access.

3.3 Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or engage in fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activity.

4. Subscriptions and Billing

4.1 Free and Premium Tiers

FamilyPlate offers a free tier with basic features and a Premium subscription tier with advanced features (such as unlimited regenerations, advanced substitutions, and direct grocery ordering).

4.2 Payment Processing

All payments are processed securely through our third-party payment processor, Stripe. By subscribing to a Premium tier, you agree to provide valid payment information and authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis (e.g., monthly or annually) depending on your selected plan.

4.3 Auto-Renewal and Cancellation

Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. You can cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. Upon cancellation, you will retain access to Premium features until the end of your current billing cycle.

4.4 Refund Policy

Except as required by applicable law, all fees are non-refundable. We do not provide refunds or credits for partially used billing periods.

5. Affiliate Disclosure

FamilyPlate may integrate with third-party grocery delivery services (such as Instacart or Talabat) to allow you to order ingredients directly. We participate in affiliate marketing programs, which means we may earn a commission if you click on a grocery ordering link and make a purchase. This comes at no additional cost to you and helps support the development of FamilyPlate.

6. Content and Intellectual Property

6.1 Our Content

All content provided by FamilyPlate, including meal plans, recipes, shopping lists, and AI-generated recommendations, is owned by BTW Marketing FZCO or licensed to us. You may not republish or redistribute our content commercially.

6.2 Your Content

You retain ownership of any content you provide (e.g., preferences, votes). By using the Service, you grant us a license to use this data to provide and improve the Service. We will only use your data to train our AI models if it has been strictly anonymized and aggregated, ensuring your privacy is protected.

7. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability

7.1 No Medical or Nutritional Advice

FamilyPlate is NOT a substitute for professional medical or nutritional advice. We do not provide medical guidance. If you have allergies, dietary restrictions, or health conditions, consult a healthcare professional before following any meal plan.

7.2 Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, BTW Marketing FZCO shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. In no event shall our total liability exceed the amount you paid us in the past 12 months.

8. App Store and Google Play Guidelines

If you download the FamilyPlate app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, you acknowledge that these Terms are between you and BTW Marketing FZCO, not with Apple Inc. or Google LLC. Apple and Google are not responsible for the Service, its content, or any maintenance and support services.

9. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates and the Emirate of Dubai. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved through binding arbitration in Dubai, UAE, after an initial attempt at informal negotiation.
